Every morning I find myself looking at this poor little plant as it hangs lifelessly from itself, the cold having taken its toll. I’m not sure why, but I’ve almost purposely not removed it from the deck in front of the chair I sit on to have my coffee and cigarette. I find there to be a certain beauty in this little tomato even though it’s time has passed. Even in death nature is a beautiful thing.

Good Morning!
I am in the process of reading Photography and The Art of Seeing by Freeman Patterson. In this great book, Mr. Patterson discusses a number of techniques that he uses to help move away from labeling the objects we see every day and see them from a new perspective. One of these techniques he uses is, when first waking up take a number of pictures during the morning routine. My routine is definitely just that, very routine. Wake up, check the clock and turn off the clock (after snoozing a few times of course), go into the kitchen, check the clock, make some coffee, check my email, have a cigarette on the deck with my morning coffee and finally get ready for work. Overall it was a little weird to cart around my DSLR while doing all of these things but interesting none the less.
I missed my picture of the day yesterday, so I’ll endeavor to take another today. I should be receiving my back drop stand from UPS (if they can ever get their crap together enough to deliver it) so I might post either a picture of a two light setup how to video.
I hope everyone has a great morning.
